AN EXCITING NEW PROJECT FOR KEYWORTH VILLAGE

THE REGENERATION
OF THE BUNNY LANE SITE

REGENERATION

The British Legion site is in a high profile location in the heart of the village. It used to be a vibrant destination for locals of all ages with the British Legion and popular restaurant. It is now a derelict building surrounded by waste land. This development will bring the site back into use with community access and new facilities.

Other major local centres, such as Cotgrave, Ruddington and West Bridgford have seen the benefits of moving on from the 1960 / 1970 housing and shopping landscape with new facilities. It is time to start the regeneration process in Keyworth and this development provides the scale of financial investment needed to achieve this.

The contemporary design will contribute to the vibrancy and attractiveness of an area, both aesthetically and in terms of consumers having a greater variety of services and choice.

The construction phase will provide employment opportunities for local contractors and tradesmen. Steve Bell, chairman of Bellco Development who is local to Keyworth, uses an established local team to design and deliver its projects.

NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

The Neighbourhood Plan identifies a shortage of facilities for small independent retailers. The development will deliver new opportunities for local businesses to take office space which are small enough to be used by local start-ups in a contemporary setting which supports the brand environment of modern businesses.

NEW LIVING OPPORTUNITIES

The development will address the shortage of accessible and adaptable accommodation across Keyworth Village with great connections to the local shops, health care facilities and public transport.

Whilst two bedroom detached starter homes are well placed to cater for young couples, they often remain out of reach for those looking to live independently or for first time buyers. Likewise, many of the original bungalows in the village have now been extensively remodelled and extended, often into the roof.

The accommodation which will be created on Bunny Lane will be suitable for single residents, including those with mobility issues that have not been provided by any of the developments on the edge of the settlement.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The regeneration of this derelict site will provide a sustainable location which can be enjoyed by residents who do not have private transport. The use of renewable technology will reduce the environmental impact of the development which will incorporate electrical charging points, bike storage and parking places to accommodate those with additional mobility needs.

The shared landscaped areas within the development will be of the highest quality
